Our Vision Map

We have been taking photos of our school for our Vision Map. First we talked about the parts of our school that we really like. Next we wrote a list of all the places we needed to go. After that we walked around the school and took the photos. People had to tick them off the list when the photos had been taken. Then we came back to the classroom and downloaded all our photos. We had taken 16 photos! Then we put them into Comic Life. Finally we wrote some captions to go with our photos. We have put our work into our blog so you can see what we like about our school environment.

More "The Wrong Book"

Last week on Friday we carried on making our wrong book on the laptops. First we had to cut out Nicholas Ickle from a picture on the computer. Then we put a speech bubble from his mouth that said "You are in the wrong book!" We had to put an exclamation mark so that Nicholas Ickle was using expression when he spoke. As soon as we put a speech bubble we got to have a play with the colours. Raven worked out how to change the background colour. Jacinda learnt how to change the font shape and the colours of her speech bubble. Everyone knows now how to write in the speech bubble. Finally we had to save our work.
We wonder what we are going to do next...

The Wrong Book

On Friday we had the laptops. We learnt how to cut out a person from a photograph. We had to cut ourselves out of a photo that was taken on Book Character Day. We put these photos onto a background that we made in Media Blender. We then learnt how to take a photo on the screen of the laptop. We put the background and our cut out person together in Comic Life. We are going to use these to make our very own story called "The Wrong Book". We read this story on Book Character Day. It is about a boy called Nicholas Ickle who tells all the characters that they are in the wrong book. He is trying to write his very own book but lots of extra characters come into his story. He tells them "You are in the wrong book". He doesn't get to write his story. We will make our own story like Nicholas Ickle's story.

Mother's Day

On Friday it was Mother's Day. We made piklets. We put the ingredients into the bowl. We needed to do heaps of mixing. We had to cook the piklets in the frying pan. When they were cooked, we put them on the paper because they were hot. After playtime some of the Mum's came to Room 4. When the Mum's came we gave them a chair, a paper flower and a yummy piklet. We made our buttons with our Mum's. The Mum's helped us to find the stuff to make our beautiful buttons. When the buttons were finished we had a photo. We had an amazing time with our Mums in the classroom. Then we took them to Room 1 for some singing. We hope the Mums had a lovely time too.
